Huck is crate trained for the most part and vaccinated. He does have special medical needs, including kidney failure, which require ongoing attention and care.

About Huck

Huck is a big-hearted goofball looking for a soft place to land. He comes with that signature wrinkly, drooly face and a personality that turns everyday moments into adventures. Huck is all about people time—cuddling is a favorite, and he’s never against climbing in for a car ride. Toys catch his interest, he’ll happily join you for a stroll, but treats truly rock his world. You’ll quickly discover he’d do just about anything for a treat, which makes him a willing training partner. Weighing about 60 lbs but built on the shorter side, Huck is crate trained for the most part, though still has the occasional slip-up. He gets along well with other dogs, though he will guard his food—so he should be fed separately, ideally in his crate. Cats don’t faze him. Huck needs a home without young children since the fast pace makes him anxious. He’s best with someone comfortable using a crate and ready to continue positive, structured training. Recently, the rescue learned Huck is experiencing kidney failure. He’s stabilized with medication, but there’s no telling how much time he’ll have. The hope is that Huck can live out his remaining time surrounded by comfort and warmth—an understanding foster or adopter ready to give him that chance would make all the difference.
