Dagwood
AvailableDagwood is a large adult male mixed breed dog currently residing at Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. His recovery journey has been remarkable, and he is now ready for a loving, supportive home.
About Dagwood
Your new best friend is just one click away. Dagwood's transformation since arriving at the shelter in October has truly been inspiring. He arrived underweight, dealing with chronic skin issues, ear infections, and cloudy eyes. Thanks to dedicated medical care—including medicated baths, biopsies, and a special limited-ingredient diet—Dagwood’s recovery has been incredible. He has blossomed further with the support and affection from volunteers and fellow shelter friends, and now he's looking for his forever family. Dagwood needs a forever home that understands his journey and is ready to help him continue healing. He must go to a home with a social, similarly sized resident dog—this is essential, as Dagwood thrives in the company of other confident, friendly dogs. He needs an adopter who is patient, as he can be shy with new people and will likely require several meet-and-greets to slowly build trust and feel secure. Because of his nervousness with new faces, an adult-only environment or a home with older children (12+) is best for him. In his foster home, Dagwood has shown that he is fully housebroken, fits in beautifully with a pack of dogs, and enjoys cuddling, playing, and running around the yard. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed and, although initially nervous around new people, has shown that with patience and gentle care, he will warm up and seek affection. Dagwood deserves a home committed to giving him the love and patience he needs as he continues to grow. If you already have a sociable dog looking for a buddy, Dagwood might be the perfect fit. Reach out to learn more about him! Please note that Dagwood is currently in a foster home and meetings are by appointment only. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?
