About Jonah
Jonah is an older terrier ready to trade the chaos of shelter life for a patch of sunlight on a comfortable couch. Born October 1, 2013, he’s a textbook Libra—preferring calm, balance, and a bit of peace in his days. Jonah has grown mellow with age and thyroid medication; that rough edge from his youth has settled into a gentler demeanor. He’s lived with one kennel mate for two years but these days, he can’t match her energy. Most nights, he chooses the crate in the office for some alone time. Jonah doesn’t get along with kids, little dogs, or cats, but he does fine with medium and large dogs who respect his pace. He still lights up for toys, sometimes burying them in the yard, though he misses out on soft beds because his roommate tends to chew them up. Fully vetted and looking for a place to relax for his remaining years, Jonah just wants the simple comfort of home. He’s available for adoption or forever foster in Jacksonville, TX—he’s been waiting long enough. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Jonah
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Terriers like Jonah benefit most from a home with a stable, low-drama routine and a comfortable place to relax. They thrive in settings where they can have their own space and aren't overwhelmed by constant activity.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While terriers are energetic earlier in life, Jonah, being a senior, would be content with a moderate yard or regular walks in a quiet neighborhood. He’s past the phase of needing constant stimulation outdoors.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Though some terriers do well with children, Jonah does not get along with kids and would be happiest in an adult-only home.
