About Macarena

Macarena is a sweet soul with a gentle presence, estimated to be around 7 or 8 years old. Rescued from the mountains of Puerto Rico, she’s spent her life patiently waiting for someone to see just how much love she has to give. Her nature is calm and wholehearted, letting her settle in beautifully with humans of all ages—including little ones. During her time around an infant, she showed only patience and tenderness. Well-mannered with other dogs, Macarena does best with respectful canine pals after a careful introduction, though she’s just as happy to be your one and only. She has severe dermatitis that needs ongoing management, receiving allergy shots and medicated baths to keep her comfortable. Her skin might require a soft shirt for protection, but she never lets it dull her gentle spirit. She was also recently diagnosed with early-stage mammary cancer. The masses have been removed, and she’s being monitored by her caretakers. Even with her medical needs, Macarena loves outings and adventures. She’ll happily be your loyal riding buddy around town or relax with you on the couch at the end of the day. She truly deserves a secure, loving home where she can thrive. If you’re looking for a devoted companion and have the heart to care for a dog who’s seen a lot, Macarena is ready to return that love tenfold. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
