About Penny
Let's make it official, apply to adopt! Penny is a resilient and affectionate medium-sized mixed breed dog, estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old, whose journey began under heartbreaking circumstances. After being thrown from a moving car, she was promptly rescued by a witness who intervened, but unfortunately, her initial medical needs—including treatment for skin issues and a possible neurological condition—went neglected. Despite the challenges, Penny remains incredibly loving and seeks out human attention, showing a strong emotional bond that could make her an excellent candidate for an emotional support role. Penny is house broken and crate trained, with a notable intelligence and affectionate nature. She gets along well with other dogs, appears to ignore cats, and adores people. It’s important to note she does best when crated if left alone, as she sometimes experiences separation anxiety and is clever enough to steal food from counters. She’s also capable of jumping over 3-foot fences, so secure supervision is recommended during outdoor time. Penny walks fairly well on a leash, tolerates a harness, and would thrive in a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods. Her courage and loving personality shine through in everything she does. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
