About Mama
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Mama came to the rescue with a remarkable story, having raised ten puppies in a shed after being cared for from afar with limited human contact. Now that all her puppies have found loving homes, it is time for this devoted mama to find a nurturing place of her own. Mama is a medium-sized brown/chocolate Lab/Shepherd mix who absolutely loves the company of other dogs, especially playful, gentle companions. She thrives when roughhousing or playing tug of war with dogs her size or smaller and feels most comfortable around canines who are calm and respectful of her boundaries. A meet and greet is required for any potential canine housemates to ensure a good match. Though Mama is house trained and kennels up easily, she is still learning to trust people. She will take treats from your hand and allow you to sit near her, but she remains unsure about being petted. She’s looking for a foster home—ideally one that could become her forever home—where she can learn and blossom outside of the busy kennel setting. Here, she can continue to develop her social skills and gain confidence at her own pace, surrounded by understanding humans and perhaps a doggy friend or two. Mama is spayed and up to date on all core vaccines and heartworm prevention. Her gentle and hopeful spirit makes her an ideal candidate for someone patient and dog-savvy who is ready to offer her the love she’s never truly had. Start your journey together! Apply now.
