About Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea's journey showcases remarkable resilience and an unbreakable spirit. Initially found abandoned in a parking lot after giving birth, it’s suspected that her puppies were lost. She was severely malnourished and showing signs of neglect, with dental damage likely from seeking non-food items to fill her empty stomach. To add to her struggles, she was heartworm positive and needed extensive care. Thankfully, Sweet Pea was nursed back to health by her devoted foster parents and recovered beautifully, completing her heartworm treatment and receiving necessary dental care. After being adopted for nearly three years, she faced heartbreak once again when her adopter left her behind near a park. Rescued by Arlington Animal Control, Sweet Pea returned to her original foster home, where she now thrives and remains a loving presence. Sweet Pea, an affectionate 5-year-old pit bull mix, is both dog and cat friendly. She takes some time to warm up to new pets but quickly settles in. Now in great health and with a good appetite, she’s ready for her forever home. Let’s help her find the love she truly deserves.
