About Denali

Denali arrived at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue along with his buddy Biscuit—both pulled from a shelter where they quickly became close companions. Now living in foster care, Denali mingles well with a pack of both large and small dogs, showing everyone a playful and gentle side. House broken and crate trained (though not a crate fan), he truly prefers being near his foster family, soaking up all the affection available. He walks well on leash with a prong collar and brings plenty of energy to his outings, but he does shy away from strangers and prefers to keep his head down when passing new people or unfamiliar dogs. Denali’s earlier life left him wary; he wasn’t socialized as a pup and shows signs he was previously mistreated. Trust is slow to build, but in time—especially with patience and gentle handling—he opens up, becoming loyal and devoted to those he trusts. Denali isn’t the dog who will rush up to strangers looking for attention; instead, his adopter will need to commit to meeting him where he is and earning his trust. If you’re willing to put in the effort, Denali has all the ingredients to become a loving, steadfast companion. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
