Phoenix is a large, tricolor (brown, black, and white) Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix living in Mission, TX. At about 13 years and 8 months old, he is a neutered senior male with vaccinations up to date. Although he isn't suited for homes with cats or children, Phoenix forms strong bonds with his people. He’s looking for a home where he can enjoy his golden years with love and security.

About Phoenix

Phoenix came into rescue in rough shape, nearly starved and battling mange, but with care and some time, he became the handsome dog he is now. Born in September 2012, Phoenix is about 65 pounds with a lot of heart. He bonds hard to his people and sticks close—if he loves you, he wants to be by your side as much as possible. He thrives on attention, welcomes his favorite humans with a wildly wagging tail, and definitely falls into the "bath lover" camp—he'll leap into the washtub for a good scrub anytime you let him. He walks easily on leash and is a calm car passenger. Phoenix enjoys running and playing with other dogs who don’t challenge him, but he doesn’t get along with cats or children. He can be protective of the people he knows well, so he will do best in a home where he can feel secure and loved. After everything Phoenix has been through, he deserves a loyal and patient adopter to call his own, giving him the calm, happy ending he's earned. Make him your Prince Charming and watch him shine.
