About Hazelnut
Hazelnut is about two years old and came into rescue after turning up as a skinny stray. Living in a foster home, she's filled out well and has a much softer coat these days. She shares space with a chihuahua and generally gets along with the resident dog, though she prefers some distance at mealtime—she values her food and treats. Despite efforts to acclimate her, Hazelnut doesn't do well with cats, so she needs a home without feline companions. She's a solid walker and is still working on her manners with other dogs and small animals outdoors, but she's young, responsive, and would really benefit from a training class. Her future adopters receive a voucher toward training. Playful and a bit silly, Hazelnut has a sweet, wrinkly face (her lip sometimes catches adorably on her teeth) and is a natural snuggler—perfect for curling up during the cold months. Hazelnut was found to have mild hip dysplasia and a luxating patella on one side, a genetic condition that's absolutely manageable. Regular, low-impact exercise, keeping her lean, and joint supplements should keep her happy and mobile for years. The vet recommends avoiding lots of stairs or intense activity. Hazelnut's warmth and charm will make her a devoted companion wherever she lands. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
