Lady is a female Rhodesian Ridgeback/mixed breed, considered a large dog and currently living at the City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter. She has been spayed/neutered and, as a young adult, still has plenty of playful energy and love to give. This active girl is eager for a home where she can enjoy plenty of structured activity and continue her training.

About Lady

This could be the start of something paw-some. Lady is a spirited young shepherd mix bursting with energy and affection, ready to become your constant companion. At only a year old, Lady thrives in active homes where plenty of exercise and structure are part of daily life. She’s already crate trained and uses a doggy door, and she’ll eagerly follow you from room to room—always wanting to be by your side, whether it’s playtime in the yard or relaxing on the couch. Fetch and rough-and-tumble games with other large dogs are favorites, but she needs a tolerant canine friend that can match her playful spirit and a dog-savvy owner dedicated to ongoing training. While Lady knows how to have fun, she’s still learning what’s okay to chew and working through some food-guarding and dog reactivity. She blossoms with routine, mental stimulation, and clear boundaries, quickly channeling her puppy energy into positive behaviors. Her foster raves about her big personality, cuddly nature, and love for treat-stuffed toys—especially a Kong with frozen peanut butter. If you offer Lady the consistency and enrichment she craves, she’ll reward you with loyalty, curiosity, and joy in everything you do together. Lady needs an adopter ready to offer consistent guidance, room to play, and lots of love. Give her the right environment, and she’ll happily be your devoted, playful, and affectionate shadow for many years to come. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
