About Lady Squirrel
Lady Squirrel’s story is one of pure resilience. She survived heartbreak in south Texas, where her former owners mutilated her ears and never provided even the basics: no spay, no vaccines, no veterinary care—just repeated litters and neglect. Abandoned when they moved away, she was left to fend for herself with no food, water, or shelter. While pregnant, she found a scraped-out haven in a drainage pipe, protecting her newborns from rising rain until a rescuer stepped in just in time. Now in Hopeville, CT, Lady Squirrel enjoys the calm and security of foster life. Despite her hard past, she gives nothing but sweetness to those around her—humans and dogs alike. She spends her days with dogs of all sizes and a four-year-old child, loving everyone with gentle patience. Heartworm treatment is underway, and her loving spirit eclipses any scars she carries. Her cropped ears give a tough appearance, but she’s strongest in her kindness and loyalty. She’s ready for the devoted family who can show her true safety and joy.
