Anise
AvailableAnise is a female, medium-sized Domestic Short Hair/American Shorthair calico currently in Pittsboro, NC. She is spayed, house trained, vaccinated, and does best in a quieter household. Anise gets along well with other cats but not with dogs, and she's looking for a calm, loving home.
About Anise
Anise is a striking calico kitten with a playful streak, always up for chasing a dragonfly wand or hunting her toy mice. She came from a colony of garage cats and still carries some of that wary energy—she’s shy, especially around new people, and prefers slow introductions. Anise sometimes leans in for pets and even purrs when she feels especially safe, but she’s selective about when she wants affection and needs a patient, gentle owner willing to let her set her own pace. She’s closely bonded with her sister Nutmeg, and they are looking for a quiet, calm home together. Anise is not comfortable around dogs or young kids, so an adult household without canine companions would suit her best. She is spayed, microchipped, house trained, FeLV/FIV negative, and current on vaccines. If you’re ready to offer a peaceful environment and a little extra patience, Anise and Nutmeg would love to meet you. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Anise
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Anise is a Domestic Short Hair/American Shorthair mix, and cats of this type do well in relaxed, stable homes with safe indoor spaces. A calm, patient household fits Anise best given her shy nature.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Anise, like most Domestic Short Hair and American Shorthairs, thrives indoors and doesn't require outdoor space. She enjoys playing with toys inside and prefers a safe environment.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Generally, Domestic Short Hair/American Shorthairs can adapt to families, but Anise herself would be overwhelmed by young children and is best in an adults-only or older kid household.
