About Peter Pan
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Peter Pan and his dear friend Wendy have just arrived and are searching for their forever home together. These two are an inseparable pair, so they must be adopted as a duo. Peter Pan is a striking 6-year-old white and brown dapple dachshund who is now fully vetted and eager to settle into a loving home. He previously experienced a bout of IVDD, but made a strong recovery with crate rest; to help prevent future issues, he should not be allowed to use stairs or jump off furniture. Peter Pan is happiest sleeping quietly in his crate, though he’d much prefer sharing a big bed with his people. Mealtimes require a bit of care, as he likes to sneak Wendy’s food, so separate feeding is best. This energetic boy loves to dash outside whenever doors are left open, and he can run and run with joy! He’s leash and crate trained, adores playing with squeaky and rope toys, and gets along well with dogs, cats, and children after a thoughtful introduction. Peter Pan and Wendy are ready to brighten a lucky family’s life together. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Peter Pan
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Dachshunds thrive in loving homes where they can be close to their humans. They adapt well to apartments or houses, as long as they receive adequate attention, exercise, and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Dachshunds do not require large yards but benefit from regular walks and playtime outdoors. They love to explore and sniff, so secure outdoor spaces or frequent leash walks are ideal.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Dachshunds are generally good with children, especially if they are socialized from a young age. Supervision is recommended to ensure gentle interactions, as dachshunds can be sensitive to rough handling.
