About Hero
Hero has been called Sweet Boy, Short King, Hot Dog, and Piggie—all names he wears with pride. This three-year-old bulldog/lab mix spent his early years learning what it means to just be a dog. Now, he's growing into a calm, loyal companion who thrives on a routine, positive training, and gentle structure. He's fully house trained and crate trained, knows all the basics plus a few advanced commands, and walks nicely on leash. Most days, Hero just wants to be near his people, whether that's hanging out on the couch, attempting dog yoga, or chasing after a puzzle toy in the backyard. Hero forms intense bonds with his humans once he trusts them. He's affectionate, funny, and happiest in a quiet, predictable home with no other pets or small children—he's shown resource guarding and reactivity when animals or young kids are present. He isn't the type to tag along everywhere, but for the right adult household, he's a devoted, gentle goof ready to soak up all the love you can give. Hero requires an experienced, patient adopter who respects boundaries and keeps daily life calm. Hero is eligible for Cause for Canines' Trial Adoption Program, which lets approved adopters get to know him at home before committing. If you're over 23, live in Ohio, and don't have children under 15 or other animals, Hero might be the partner you've been looking for. Make his next chapter a safe, loving one. Ready to fall in love?
