About Fred

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Fred! Fred and his friend Ethel were discovered exploring a neighborhood in San Bernardino until a kind friend of the rescue took them in and reached out for help in finding them loving homes. Fred has an irresistibly sweet, mushy face and appears to be a mix of Boxer and Pit Bull/Staffie. He’s a playful, happy young dog—just about a year old—who is good with other dogs but hasn’t yet been tested with cats. Because he’s still an exuberant teenager, he would be best in a home without small children, as his enthusiastic energy might knock them over in play. Fred would make a fantastic companion for someone seeking a fun and active hiking buddy. While Fred and Ethel would love to stay together, they can become protective over one another, so adopting them separately is likely the best option for both pups to thrive. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Fred

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Boxer and Pit Bull Terrier mixes adapt well to active homes where they get plenty of interaction, exercise, and affection. They do best in environments with engaged owners who can provide structure and positive experiences.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

These breeds thrive with access to a securely fenced yard where they can play and burn off energy, but they also do well with daily walks and exercise even in a home without a yard.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Both Boxers and Pit Bull Terriers are typically affectionate and playful with children, but their energy and size mean supervision is recommended, especially around small children to prevent accidental knocks or bumps.
