About Otis

Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today. Charming Otis recently found his way into rescue after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Otis is a 10-year-old terrier mix, weighing about 9 pounds, with a lovely long tricolor (brown, black, and white) coat. He’s a true snuggler—if there’s an available lap, he’ll be in it, ready to share a cozy moment while you watch your favorite shows. Otis does get along with other dogs, but his heart belongs to his person, preferring the comfort of close companionship. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time; being left alone frequently would not suit him. While he is house trained, he may initially mark in a new environment, so patience and the temporary use of a belly band will help him settle in. He comfortably sleeps in a crate at night and has a clean bill of health, with a dental procedure scheduled before he’s ready to go home. Otis's adoption fee is $150, but will be waived for a senior adopter. Adopters must be able to meet Otis in Utah; transportation and shipping are not available for this sweet boy. Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Otis

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Terrier mixes like the Yorkshire Terrier are well-suited for both apartments and houses, as long as they have ample companionship and mental stimulation. They thrive in loving homes where they can be close to their people.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Yorkshire Terrier mixes do not require a large yard but do enjoy regular walks and supervised playtime outdoors. They can thrive with just a small, secure outdoor space or daily walks.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Yorkshire Terrier mixes can live with older, respectful children. Due to their small size and sometimes sensitive nature, they may not be a good fit for very young or excitable children.
