About Resilience
Resilience, also called Resi, is a polydactyl cat with more toes than usual and a personality that slowly but surely unfolds for the right person. She first came to the rescue as a terrified, sick kitten abandoned outside a pet store and has come a long way physically and emotionally since then. She loves pets and attention, though she carries a gentle wariness from her past. Hand shyness shows up in the way she crouches down when touched but still asks for more affection, especially if it involves being pet or joining her foster parents in daily routines. Resilience enjoys following people around, often announcing her presence with a distinctive chirpy meow. In her foster home, she's become a bit of a sidekick—she'll happily chase a golf ball and 'help' with indoor putting practice, even if it means stealing the ball at the last second. It has taken time for her to enjoy being held, and she's happiest with people she knows well. Play remains a favorite activity, especially chasing golf balls. After a demanding recovery, Resilience is healthy—she does require a daily, lifelong medication, which she takes eagerly with a treat. The medicine has led to a bit of weight gain, earning her the nickname "Butterball," so a home willing to help her manage her diet is important. The perfect fit is an adult-only, calm household where she is likely the only pet, though other calm pets may be considered. She does best with no children and likely would not thrive with energetic pets. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, house trained, and microchipped.
