About Melody
Melody’s story starts in a church parking lot, where she was found as a tiny kitten and soon after taken in by her owner. After many years in a stable home, life changed overnight when her owner had to move to a nursing home, leaving Melody searching for new companionship. The transition was hard on her, but she’s since settled into a foster home thanks to a caring rescue volunteer. She’s learning to adapt to life with other cats and does well as long as they aren’t too forward or playful with her—she isn’t keen to mix and prefers her own space. If you have another cat, a patient introduction is essential. Melody’s true joy is sitting close by while you relax on the couch or catch up on your favorite shows; she can never refuse a good head pat. She’s not a fan of being picked up, and since she is front-declawed, a gentle approach always helps. Melody is on a weight management diet and, as she loses weight, grooming will get easier for her. She does have a minor skin condition, but it’s manageable and rarely needs anything more than occasional medication.
