About Nellie
Nellie is a medium-sized, long-coated black Chow with a loyal, affectionate streak and a truly resilient spirit. She started off as a timid, under-socialized puppy but, thanks to a patient foster, sheās opened up and learned to trust. Nellieās affectionate but cautious with new facesāshe warms up with a steady, calm approach and rewards patience with fun, shadow-like companionship. She loves chasing lizards, tossing toys, and, once comfortable, will happily cuddle up after a dayās adventure. Nellie does best as the only dog in the home. Sheās not a fit for female dogs, and only gets along with calm, confident males after a careful introduction. She thrives with structure and a confident human willing to keep working on her progress. She is crate-trained, house trained, and walks well on a gentle leader. Nellie is looking for a home where her growth will continue and her uniqueness will be celebratedāpreferably with someone who enjoys patience and loyalty in a companion.
