About Duke
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Duke is a big, goofy fellow who lives for love and fun. This playful English Bulldog adores running around and playing games, but he's just as happy receiving hugs and belly rubs. He's searching for a family of his very own to shower with affection. Generally a healthy boy, Duke does have allergies that require ongoing care—anti-allergy medication and eye drops keep most symptoms at bay, but he’ll need a committed adopter to continue his treatment throughout his life. Duke's adoption includes his neuter, cherry-eye surgery, up-to-date vaccinations (including DHLPPi, Bordetella, and Rabies), heartworm and tick-borne disease testing, preventive care, a microchip, and 30 days of free pet insurance. Duke's enthusiasm knows no bounds—he greets his favorite people with the energy of a 70lb wrecking ball! Yet, beneath his exuberant exterior, he's gentle, loves to cuddle, and is a star when it comes to his daily medications and care. He gets along with other dogs and cats, but due to his strong and boisterous greetings, a dog-savvy cat and slow, managed introductions are best. Teens and adults will be the right match for him since his size and excitement aren’t suitable for younger children. He’s fully house trained and crate trained but is still working on leash walking—he tends to freeze up when on a leash, so a fenced-in yard is a must for exercise and potty breaks while he learns. The ideal adopter will have an extensive previous veterinary history and a home ready for Duke’s ongoing allergy care. Applicants from northern NJ are favored, but out-of-state adopters will also be considered. His adoption fee covers all outlined veterinary services. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
