Prissy
AvailablePrissy is a domestic short hair cat in the adult stage of her life, living in Brooklyn, NY. She is a medium-sized, spayed female, fully vaccinated, and house trained. Prissy prefers to be the sole animal in the home and would do best with adults who understand her unique background.
About Prissy
Prissy had a rough start in life. Passed from person to person, she never had consistent care or much kindness. Before rescue, she wasn't given regular meals, never saw a vet, and was almost put outside despite having never set paw outdoors. When she finally landed somewhere safe, she was defensive and wary—as anyone would be after years of being ignored. Over time, once given her own space and steady attention, Prissy began to show her true colors. She still guarded her boundaries but gradually accepted gentle pets, rolled over to show her belly, and started to trust. After an ear injury and a much-needed vet visit, everything shifted—she understood that someone was looking out for her. That's when Prissy blossomed. Now, she seeks out human contact, hops onto laps, snuggles on beds, and melts into head butts and purrs. She does get overwhelmed by too much attention and will let you know with the occasional swat or nip, so she needs a home without small kids. Prissy also prefers to be the only animal; she doesn’t get along with cats or dogs. With adults who respect her signals, she’s sweet and affectionate, finally ready for a real home where she can be cherished. Your new best friend is just one click away.
