About Sarah
Sarah is a German Shepherd mix whose journey started in Ukraine before landing in our care in LOXAHATCHEE, FL in 2022. Sheโs faced a lot of disruption, which shows in her attachment and anxiety behaviors, especially around new people or when left alone. Sarah latches on deeply to her primary humans, and unfamiliar visitors or absences can leave her unsettled. She needs patience and gentle guidance to adjust to changes and unfamiliar people. When separation triggers her anxiety, she sometimes chews on household objects, but this is manageable with routine and structure. Sarah is still learning to relax and play, but she finds comfort in the company of other dogs, especially calm, confident males. Her ideal adopter has real experience with anxious or sensitive dogs and understands the value of calm, predictable routines. Sarah is fundamentally loyal and sensitive and needs a patient household where she can gradually build trust and grow more confident. Someone willing to invest the time and consistency she needs will be rewarded with her trust. As a Pisces (born February 25th), she can be especially empathetic and in tune with emotions.
