About Smuckers
Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Smuckers is the very definition of resilience and charm! Rescued in late June of 2025 after a tough start to life, this dainty lady was born in late 2024 and faced more than her fair share of challenges. Found on the streets of NW Grand Rapids, her journey included overcoming illness and adapting to a few quirks, like Feline Leukemia, a stubborn chronic respiratory infection that leaves her snorting like an adorable piglet, and a delightful permanent head tilt that only adds to her irresistible character. Despite these challenges, her playful spirit shines—even her distinctive snorts are part of her unique appeal, and her lively entrance can be heard from rooms away! Smuckers is a fan favorite among volunteers thanks to her huge personality in such a tiny package. She’s learned to coexist with other cats, using a hiss or growl on occasion but never causing trouble, and she's even starting to enjoy being cuddled. Smuckers thrives in a home that appreciates her youthful energy and busy nature—older children who can keep her entertained would make excellent companions. Her favorite pastime is lounging in a sunny window, watching squirrels and birds, before crashing into a cozy and comical kitten sleep. Whenever she isn’t napping, she’s a whirlwind of activity, always ready for fun! (Pssst—a fun fact: Smuckers is a Sagittarius, making her adventurous, curious, and full of zest for life!) Make their next chapter their best one yet.
