About Maura
Click apply to start the adoption process. Mini but mighty, magnificent Maura, born in June 2023 (making her a lively Cancer—Cancers are known for being loving and loyal!), arrived at Big Sid’s Sanctuary as a special transfer in July 2025. Maura stands out as a petite six-pound Domestic Medium Hair torbie, graced with a gorgeous brown and chocolate tabby coat. After bravely overcoming a bout with acute-onset hemolytic anemia, she bounced back and now enjoys her days among fellow felines in our free-roaming facility. Maura's personality sparkles as she grows increasingly comfortable with gentle handling and affection. You’ll find that Maura has a soft spot for feline friends and will happily curl up with another cat when she feels safe. While she may still be shy and a bit reserved with new people and too much activity, she has made wonderful progress—recently, she’s even become a biscuit-making pro, delighting in head rubs and body pats. Maura needs an adopter who appreciates her sensitive nature and is willing to give her plenty of patience, time, and one-on-one attention as she transforms into the perfect little companion. She’ll thrive in a calmer, loving household where her journey of growth and affection can continue at her own pace. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
