Hi guys, I'm Buddy AKA Spruce. But most people just call me Buddy. I was originally rescued from Texas. I was adopted out, but I was very timid and fearful back then and my adopter at the time wasn't ready to help me with that. I came back to the Ranch in 2022, and over the years I have opened up massively. (Here's a secret: I started to warm up to humans when I was allowed to lick some wet food off of people's hands!) Though I would thrive best with a patient, understanding home where everyone respects boundaries, my moments of fear are few and far between and I have learned just how much I love the fun things in life, like treats, affection, and swimming pools. I love to run around in my nice big yard and on the hot days I'll dive right in the water. I'll play with other dogs too, but I haven't met the nicest dogs in my life so I prefer dogs who will allow me to be in charge and who will give me my space until I'm ready to play. And play I do! I even do the happy-chatters with my teefies when I get excited! Isn't that cute? I know it took me some time to start opening up to people, but I'm ready to put the past behind me and start my new life with my new family.
