About Linus

Linus is a sensitive, goofy soul packed into a big, loving frame. This one-year-old, medium-sized Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix was raised by bottle after a rough start in life—he and his littermates were surrendered at just a few weeks old, so he’s known uncertainty and struggle from the beginning. Still, Linus came through it all with a gentle heart and a deep need to belong. He’s house trained and crate trained, already vetted, and ready to settle in somewhere he can feel comfortable. He tends to be shy with new faces, but give him space to warm up and you’ll get contagious wiggles, big smiles, and loyalty in return. While Linus gets along with other dogs, he does have a tendency to resource guard food and toys with them—never with people. Because of this, he’s gone through professional training and now needs a calm, steady home, ideally as the only animal. Older children who can respect his signals are a good fit. Linus shines brightest in a relaxed setting with people who understand patience and trust. He wants a human or family who will let him be king of the household, soaking up all the love and attention. If you can give him that, he’ll be your devoted companion. Ready to make Linus part of your story? Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Linus

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Linus, as a Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix, does best in a home with enough space for movement—think a house with a yard or a roomy apartment with regular outings. He appreciates a calm environment where he can relax with his people.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

A medium-sized dog like Linus benefits from having access to a yard or frequent walks, but structured exercise and playtime matter more than the actual size of the space.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Labrador Retriever/Terrier mixes are known to be good family dogs, but for Linus, a home with older, respectful children is best, as he needs time and space to warm up and decompress.
