About Jute Heart Condition
Jute was born in 2017 and has had a bit of a journey already. His first family had to give him up due to health reasons, and although a friend stepped up, their resident cats didn’t welcome him. That’s how Jute arrived at the rescue, looking for the right place to settle down. Not long after he arrived, it was discovered Jute has a Grade III to IV heart murmur. A visit to a cardiologist confirmed hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, meaning his heart walls thicken and his heart doesn’t work as efficiently as it should. Jute’s condition is stable right now; he takes a daily medication easily and needs an echocardiogram twice a year to monitor things, which runs about $800 per visit. His next check-up is already scheduled for January 2024. Heart condition aside, Jute is still active, outgoing, affectionate, and always ready to play. At the thrift store where he’s been staying, he soaks up attention from everybody—volunteers and shoppers alike. He’s gotten used to being doted on. Jute could fit well into most families, but whoever adopts him does need the ability to keep up with his medical appointments and related costs. He isn’t demanding otherwise, just wants a place and people to call his own. Ready to make him part of your family? Click apply to start the adoption process.
