Louiehe's Got A Sponsor! is mostly beagle with a bit of pug—he weighs in at 35 lbs and has been house trained and leash trained. In his previous home, Louiehe's Got A Sponsor! was an only dog and sometimes guarded his food and became very protective of his favorite person, particularly his mom. Tensions started once a baby arrived; Louiehe's Got A Sponsor! bit, breaking skin in the past—mostly his dad—but the specifics are unclear. Since coming to the rescue, his behavior has changed significantly: he's now our resident Sheriff, calm and gets along with other dogs of all sizes and ages. He loves having his forehead rubbed and is happy to sleep with people or other pooches. He’s shown he can live well in a multi-dog environment, especially when not rushed and when shown patience. The rescue recommends an experienced dog family with no young children, and notes he's fine as an only dog if that's what you prefer.
