AvailableRoot Beer is a 9-year-old, 9-month-old spayed female Cattle Dog with a striking red-orange coat, living in Chicago, IL. She’s a medium-sized senior who’s been vaccinated and is completely house trained. She’ll do best as the only animal in a quiet, adult-only home.
About Root Beer
Root Beer isn’t new to ALIVE Rescue. She was first pulled from a hoarding situation in Chicago, where she beat the odds against parvo as a puppy. Over the years, Root Beer has found homes twice, and her personality has taught everyone what she needs to thrive. She bonds hard and fast with one person, quickly adopting them as her own, and then keeps a protective watch over that person. Because of this, Root Beer needs a home with just one adult and no children—her loyalty runs deep. She must also be the only animal in the house; other dogs or cats just aren't her style. The city overwhelms Root Beer, so she’s happiest in the quiet of a single-family home in the suburbs. If you like being outside, she’ll be right beside you. She does her best thinking outdoors, soaking up the breeze, sniffing for new scents, and even diving into the water at the beach. Inside, she’s an expert napper and will probably steal your favorite blanket. Let her head burrow into your hand or invite her for a tummy rub and you’ll see her softer side. Toys are a big deal to Root Beer. She goes all out for tennis balls—give her a squeaky stuffed animal or a puzzle toy and she’ll entertain herself. She knows several commands and is easy to train, thanks to her love of treats. She’s housebroken, and you don’t have to worry about her making a mess. Root Beer is a goofball at heart and if you give her a chance, she’ll fill your days with laughter and routine. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
