About Rosemary
Rosemary and her companion Sage came to the rescue as young, unsocialized Border Collies, and, despite years of gentle effort, Rosemary has stayed wary of people. She’s never aggressive and tolerates people moving in and out of her kennel, but she keeps her distance and won’t let anyone pet her. Instead, she prefers to observe quietly and enjoy the company of her dog friend. Where Sage gradually accepted touch and affection, Rosemary remains hands-off but shows curiosity about visitors. Both dogs still get a little spark of joy when someone stops by. Rosemary is searching for a secure, well-fenced backyard with shelter, where she can settle in and live out her life at her own pace. She doesn’t ask much—just a patch of yard, some routine, and someone nearby now and then. Rosemary has spent her whole life in shelter kennels and has never experienced the freedom of her own yard. If you have room, patience, and respect for her boundaries, Rosemary is ready for the soft landing she deserves. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!

Questions about Rosemary
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rosemary is a Border Collie mix, a breed known for thriving in homes with secure yards or ample outdoor space. She’ll do best in a calm, consistent environment where she has the space to keep her distance and feel safe.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Border Collies like Rosemary need a securely fenced yard and room to move around. While Rosemary may not be as high-energy as some dogs, she will appreciate plenty of outdoor space to observe and explore.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Border Collies can get along with children, but given Rosemary’s fearful temperament and need for boundaries, a quieter adult home or a family with older, respectful children is best.
