Travis is one of those dogs who doesn't have it easy, but he's not about to give up. He came from a tough start in Kentucky—malnourished, shy, and neglected. Since arriving, he's put on healthy weight, learned to trust people a bit more, and picked up important skills like crate training and basic commands. He has some mild mobility issues from his past but he remains lively and determined, just needing a little more rest than some. Gentle and curious, Travis blossoms with routine, patience, and quiet encouragement. In his foster home, he's shown that he gets along with both dogs and cats, though he prefers calm companions over a bustling environment and will need meet-and-greets to settle in with new friends. He bonds deeply when given time, enjoys being the center of attention, and is happiest when his toys stay his. Suitable for a quieter adult household—ideally with large-breed or Shepherd experience—Travis would benefit from a home that can offer patience, structure, and the occasional reminder not to chase the household cat. Fenced yards are a plus, but not required, and homes with older children (over 12) may be considered. Travis will need in-person meets before adoption, and families must be within 80 miles of Lacona, NY. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and housebroken.
