She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, house trained, and has some special needs related to her shy temperament. About Keelanvery Shy
Keelanvery Shy is a reserved adult calico looking for an adopter who genuinely understands and appreciates shy cats. Her cautious nature isn’t just about hiding when you visit; she can get uncomfortable with new people and will need both patience and time to build trust. Keelan thrives around other gentle cats and should live with at least one to help her settle and bond. She’s not a fit for a home with young kids, as fast movements or sudden attention would overwhelm her. When Keelan feels safe, she shows playful flashes—Churu treats are a favorite. Petting isn’t her thing just yet, but she’s slowly warming up, thanks to ongoing work with dedicated volunteers. Any potential adopter should expect to visit multiple times, ideally with help from the shelter’s Behavior Team, to give her a chance to show her softer side. She has no dog experience, but the team will advise on slow introductions if needed. Adoption for Keelan involves a thorough process, including required in-person visits and careful planning for her transition. Declawing is not allowed. If you live outside Anchorage, you must come meet her and arrange transport. Indoor life (with access to safe outdoor experiences like a catio or harness walks) is strongly encouraged. Keelan will do best in a calm, prepared home that values her gentleness and need for a feline companion. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
