Jethro isn’t the type to throw himself at every passerby, but once he’s decided you’re his person, he’s fiercely loyal. At about 10 years old, he’s got that dignified, steady presence you only get from a senior dog, but don’t let the gray fool you—he gets downright giddy for stuffed animals and easy-paced play. Jethro is housebroken, comfortable at home, and happiest simply hanging out near his people. He’s got a thick little frame and enjoys leisurely strolls, so someone who appreciates a slow walk and a laid-back routine would make a great match for him. He’s losing his hearing and can come off a bit grumpy now and again, but once you know him, these quirks just become part of his charm. Give him time and patience; he’ll reward you by sticking by your side like a true companion. He’s fine with other dogs, gets along with cats, and would thrive in a peaceful home, maybe with a retired person or couple who’d love a calm, unwavering buddy.
