About Luz

Luz is a gentle soul who has faced more than her share of hardship. Completely blind and abandoned at the side of the road, she arrived at the shelter in poor health, with a neck wound from other dogs. Despite it all, Luz shines with affection and loves to play, offer hugs, and give her signature kisses. She navigates her world using her sense of smell and currently lives peacefully among seniors and other special needs dogs. Luz sometimes startles and barks in response to loud noises—her way of coping with the shelter’s busy environment after all she’s been through. She would thrive in a quiet home where her person can help her build confidence and safely explore. While Luz has shown she gets along well with calm animals, she’ll do best as the only dog at first, until she feels secure in her new routine. Her gentle heart and resilience deserve a soft landing and someone willing to be patient as she settles in. As a Libra born on October 10, she combines sensitivity with unexpected strength. Every animal carries a story—Luz is ready for her next chapter to be filled with care. Your new best friend is just one click away.
