Nugget was born into a world that wasn’t so kind. His momma, a stray on the Yakama reservation, gave birth with no home or love to warm their little paws. Luckily, a dedicated rescue was able to secure Nugget and his family and try to find them better opportunities. However, due to some bumps in the road, by the time space opened up in a different rescue, Nugget and his siblings had turned from adorable pups into cautious adolescents. But here’s where his journey takes a heartwarming turn! Nugget found sanctuary with our wonderful rescue, primarily because they've got a soft spot for dogs with that signature ‘wonky’ ear look. When this sweet boy first arrived, his social skills were a bit rusty; he was shy and unsure of the world around him. 😶 But let me tell you, once he started feeling the love, this pup blossomed! Living in foster care among five resident dogs and six other fosters, Nugget quickly learned to handle indoor living with grace. He’s mastered the art of being calm and composed—even if he occasionally goes on a little adventure to swipe a slipper or do a bit of counter-surfing (classic puppy moves, am I right?). He’s crate trained, house trained, and walks like a pro on a leash. Plus, he’s gentle as can be when accepting treats! 🍖 Nugget's newfound love of toys means he’s always up for playtime, and he gets along splendidly with his fellow canine friends. 🐕‍🦺 At just 7 months old, weighing in at 47 pounds, Nugget is expected to reach mid-fifties when he reaches his adult weight—so he’s going to be a good-sized companion for adventures! 🚀 While he hasn’t been around small kiddos yet, older ones would be ideal. And as an added bonus, he makes a solid watchdog, alerting his family about any peculiar happenings, but without the excessive barking.
