About Benny is in MaineLS
Benny Is In Maine, called Benny, is just over a year old and weighs around 60 lbs. He’s a healthy, upbeat dog who finds joy romping in the yard and thrives on affection—especially bum scratches. Benny likes having company and leans in close, making himself right at home for a petting session. He gets along well with other dogs, though his energetic play may not suit every canine companion. He’s had a lot of upheaval in his young life and does best in a reliable, calm home with predictable routines. Because busy or unpredictable environments unsettle him, a household without young kids or teenagers is best. Cats tend to excite him too much to be safe. Benny looks to his people for guidance and is quick to soak up new information. He’s fun to be around and brings real enthusiasm to life, especially in safe spaces like a fenced yard where he can entertain himself and burn off energy. Walks in quieter settings are a work in progress; busy streets or crowded paths can overwhelm him, but he’s steadily gaining confidence at his own pace. He is house and crate trained. He sometimes chews soft items out of boredom, fitting the profile of a teenage dog still learning structure. Benny’s early months were rough—found abandoned with severe demodex, he was nearly hairless except for a white “sugar-dusted” patch on his head, earning him the name Beignet. His fur is now thick and handsome, though some scarring remains on his face. He’s otherwise healthy, just a bit pink, and may benefit from sunscreen when in the sun. Benny hopes for a family able to offer patience, direction, and a daily dose of affection. Click apply to start the adoption process.
