About Smitty
When Smitty's longtime human became ill and couldn't care for him and his feline friend Toby, she brought them to The Animal League. The transition was tough, but Smitty is adapting well and receiving good care. He's a laid-back, sweet cat who shows affection by rubbing his head against you. Smitty gets along comfortably with other cats, dogs, turtles, and even birds. He has a lazy streak—happiest lounging around, usually crashing out on his cat bed, but he can nap just about anywhere. Head scratches and treats are top on his list of favorite things. Recently diagnosed with diabetes, Smitty is now in a foster home where he's getting the care he needs. His easygoing nature remains unchanged and his gentle affection is constant. If you're looking for a relaxed, friendly companion who doesn't mind sharing space with other pets, Smitty stands out.
