About Maya
Maya is a 1-year-old German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd mix with a warm brown and gold coat, highlighted by white. She weighs around 45 pounds and carries herself with a joy that’s hard to miss—her smile lights up a room. Maya’s path hasn’t been smooth; after being found wandering near a country home twice and declined by her former owner, she finally found kindness with her foster family. Their care has let her personality blossom. Maya is affectionate, sweet, and energetic. She thrives in an active home with daily walks and exercise, and would do best with someone who spends a lot of time at home. She plays well with other dogs, but her prey drive means she can’t be around cats or farm animals. Maya is continuing her house training and sleeps outside at night for now but she’s making progress toward being a full-time indoor companion. She does well on a leash, enjoys car rides, is microchipped, scheduled to be spayed, and is current on all her vaccinations. Maya is looking for someone ready for adventure—and ready to welcome all the love she wants to give. Start your journey together! Apply now.
