About Gary
Gary came to the rescue as part of a litter of sick kittens, all battling giardia and respiratory infections at first. The giardia is long gone and his respiratory symptoms have improved a lot—though, like many cats, he could have the odd flare-up, especially while in a shelter setting. This tends to settle once cats are in their own homes, though an occasional eye medication might still be needed. Physically, Gary is an orange and white mackerel tabby with a raccoon-like tail and intense blue eyes. He stands out from his more outgoing brothers for being the shy one, but once things calm down and he gets some individual attention, he truly enjoys petting and scratch sessions. Wand toys really get him going. In a quieter home, without his more confident siblings, he's likely to open up even more. Gary is house trained, neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. The rescue prefers to adopt to homes in Orange County and nearby areas, and requests children be at least 10 years old (exceptions can be made depending on the situation). Gary is a Gemini—no wonder he’s curious but a bit reserved! Ready to see if Gary is a match for your quieter home? Your new best friend is just one click away.
