About Barry
Barry is the definition of a big-hearted, laid-back companion. He is deeply affectionate and reliably mellow—the kind of cat who'd rather be at your side than anywhere else. At 11 years old, Barry’s been through a lot: he spent six years in a home before his person had to return him because of vet costs. Even with his size, Barry’s gentle with people and wins over just about everyone with his charm. He is not a social cat when it comes to others of his kind or with dogs; he really needs a home without feline or canine roommates. Past issues with inappropriate urination seem to disappear when he’s the only animal and feels secure and attended to—he’s been spotless in his foster home’s litter box. Barry is a bit of a door dasher, moving fast when he has mischief in mind, but most of the time, he’ll be soaking up your attention. To manage skin allergies, he’s on a prescription diet and takes Apoquel twice daily—no hassle, he eats his meds with treats. Barry was born July 1, 2014, which makes him a Cancer; expect big emotions and a strong attachment to his humans. Ready to welcome a sweet, sturdy guy who prefers to be your one and only? Your new best friend is just one click away.
