About Larry
Larry is a reserved and gentle soul who is still figuring out how to trust people. After spending his early years in a hoarding situation surrounded by dozens of other neglected small dogs, Larry is still working through his fears and hasn't warmed up to petting, though he'll sit nearby and eventually take treats from your hand once he feels comfortable. He recently lost the only real home he'd ever known, so the world feels unsettled for him right now. At about five years old and around 15 lbs, Larry is likely a mix of poodle, chihuahua, and perhaps a little dachshund. He is house trained but does not know how to walk on a leash yet. Larry mostly keeps to himself, is very quiet, and prefers lounging peacefully on the couch. His coat has some matting and thinning, and old eye and ear injuries hint at his rough start in life, but he is being cared for and will be fully checked and groomed before adoption. Larry needs someone especially patient—someone content just to let him exist as he is and who can offer calm reassurance, not expectations.
