Cora
AvailableCora is an adult female Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix with a striking gray, blue, and silver coat. She is medium-sized and fully house trained, and has been spayed. Vaccinations are up to date, and she is currently cared for at Arf-Anage Dog Rescue. As a deaf dog, she requires a bit of special attention and understanding. Cora would do best in a patient home that can meet her unique needs and provide a steady, loving environment.
About Cora
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Cora is a loyal, affectionate, and very special cattle dog mix looking for her perfect home. Deaf and estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old, she thrives at her foster home and loves to lounge quietly at your side, though she is always ready for an energetic trail run or hike. Cora is food-motivated and picks up basic commands quickly, especially when things are calm. Indoors, she's mostly well-behaved, though she can be reactive around guests and isn’t fond of ceiling fans. Outside, she may react to moving cars, groups of people, or objects, but her foster family has noted consistent progress with her, even if she needs some time to adjust to new settings. For management, Cora does best with on-leash control when visitors arrive and may need a muzzle as an added precaution due to occasional reactivity. She crates up easily, but will bark when left alone or when guests are present, so she relaxes best when given her own bedroom space. She has previously lived happily with other dogs—especially those with a heeler background—but is also content as the only dog in the home. Cora is not suited for households with cats, as she will chase them, and she hasn’t been tested with small children. An adult-only, cat-free environment will help her feel safe and comfortable. Born on January 29, she’s an Aquarius—a playful and independent spirit! Cora is truly a rewarding companion for anyone patient enough to understand her unique needs. Ready to fall in love? Questions about Cora
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Australian Cattle Dogs/Blue Heelers thrive in active households with access to plenty of space, preferably with a yard. They are well-suited to homes where they have a job to do or plenty of stimulation, as they are intelligent and energetic cattle dogs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This breed requires ample outdoor space to run and exercise. A secure, fenced-in yard is ideal, but they can also do well with frequent outings to parks or open areas where they can burn energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Australian Cattle Dogs can be good with older, respectful children, but they may be too rambunctious or herding-oriented for small kids. Early socialization helps, but supervision is key.
