About Emerald

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Emerald! Emerald is a 3-year-old spayed female domestic short hair cat with a lovely grey and white coat. She came to the shelter after her family lost their home in the Indian Lake tornadoes in 2024. As a result, Emerald has been through quite a lot and may be a bit hesitant when meeting new people. She is currently working on a weight loss journey, so an adopter who’s patient and committed to keeping her active will be a great match. Emerald is known for being very vocal, delighting in attention and, of course, treats—hence her current focus on shedding a few pounds! She does well with other cats and with children who can recognize when she needs her own space. Additionally, she has some allergies and requires medication to manage them, so she’ll need a caring owner willing to keep up with her special medical routine.
