About Tank

Tank has been through more than most dogs ever should. Found tied up and neglected for years, then abandoned and left unfed, he arrived at the rescue severely underweight and battling heartworm. Even after all of that, Tank stayed gentle and trusting, holding on to his love for people. After beating both heartworm and mast cell cancer, Tank has proven he's a survivor in every sense. At 13 years old, Tank is an American Bulldog mix who acts like a big, 75-pound lap dog. He’s at his happiest just hanging out with his people or going for a ride in the car. Tank doesn’t get along with other animals, so he needs a home where he can be the only pet, with a fenced yard where he can safely roam and relax. He’s housetrained, strong, and still needs some leash work, but the rescue will help with that. He needs someone who can handle his size and appreciates a loyal, people-loving companion.
