Starlight is a 5-year-old female Staffordshire Terrier and Lab mix whose name actually fits her. When she feels secure, you see her real personality – bright and eager. Adopted as a puppy then found as a stray, she came back a bit wary, but patience and routine have made her comfortable in her own skin. She’s house-trained and handles a leash like a pro, happy to spend time on long walks where she sniffs everything. She’s playful but knows her limits; fetch, toys, getting into agility, and even just goofing around independently all work for her. Starlight learns fast and already knows basic commands, thriving whenever she’s given a bit of structure and attention. She does fine with other dogs with the right intros. After chronic ear infections, she recently had a left ear canal removed and needs a foster home—at least one steady month—for healing and getting used to some hearing loss. Ongoing, she’ll need monthly ear drops. APA’s medical team will support the care. Consistency, a calm pace, and patience go a long way in her world.
