Roger
AvailableRoger is a large, adult Shepherd/mixed breed living in Barrington Hills, IL. His coat is medium in length and colored in brown, tan, and red shades. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and house trained. Roger does not get along with cats, male dogs, or young children, so a home without them is important.
About Roger
Roger came up from an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter and settled in fast. He stands out—a big, sturdy Shepherd mix, around 75 lbs and roughly six years old. Roger is fully vetted and healthy. People are his absolute favorite, and he's happiest hanging around folks who give him plenty of attention. Because of his size and energy, he needs a family with experience handling large, dominant dogs—someone comfortable channeling his strength and quirks. Roger loves playtime, roaming a secure yard, and walks (his leash manners are still a work in progress). He thrives with older kids or in an adult household. For Roger, being an only dog is ideal, though he could coexist with a submissive female dog. Male dogs are not his cup of tea, and he doesn't do well with cats. The best fit for Roger is a home where someone is around most of the time, like a remote worker or stay-at-home parent—he is not suited to being home alone all day. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a big heart and a bigger personality, Roger’s ready for the right home. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Roger
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Roger, a Shepherd/mixed breed, thrives best in a stable home with ample space and experienced handlers. His breed mix suits environments where structure and meaningful activity are part of the daily routine.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A large, securely fenced yard works well for dogs like Roger. Shepherd mixes need a place to play and exercise beyond just short walks.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
