About Roger
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Roger is a truly one-of-a-kind Shepherd mix who came to BAARK from Oklahoma after his previous shelter became overcrowded. This large and lovable boy weighs around 75 lbs and is estimated to be about 6 years old. With his unique blend of brown, tan, and red hues, and a handsome medium coat, he immediately stands out from the crowd. Roger is the definition of friendly and thrives on human companionship. He adores people and seeks out their attention, making him happiest when surrounded by those he loves. For this reason, he would be best in a home where someone is around most of the day—either staying at home or working remotely. His playful nature means he enjoys time in a secure yard as well as going on walks, although he is still improving his leash manners. Due to his size and energetic personality, Roger is best suited for a family with older children or in an adult-only household. While he gets along with some other dogs—especially submissive females—he is challenged by male dogs and would truly flourish either as the only dog or possibly with a gentle female companion. Roger’s ideal family would have Shepherd or large-dog experience, understanding how to help him channel his energy positively and appreciating his bigger-than-life character. Roger is fully vetted, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative with ongoing preventative care. He’s a happy, affectionate, and engaging boy ready to find his forever home with a family who can appreciate all he has to offer. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Roger
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shepherd mixes typically do well in homes with secure yards and enough space to move around. They thrive in environments where they can receive both mental and physical stimulation, making them great for active households.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Usually, Shepherd mixes need access to a secure yard or frequent walks for exercise. While they can live in apartments if exercised sufficiently, they are happiest with space to run and play safely outdoors.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Shepherd mixes are generally good with children, especially when well socialized from a young age. Due to their larger size and energy, they may be better suited to families with older children who understand how to interact with a big dog.
