About Kano
Kano lost his longtime owner and is searching for a stable home after being surrendered by the current family, who canāt keep him due to issues with another male dog. Heās a sturdy, active 8-year-old fawn Boxer with some bumps on his back and a larger lump on his foot, though neither seems to slow him down or cause pain. Kanoās energy comes through when he plays: heās affectionate and has a protective streak. Heās used to living indoors and sleeps anywhere from his own bed to the couch. While heās house trained, heās recently marked in the kitchenāthe presence of another male dog likely stirring up territorial behavior. Kano hasnāt gotten along with male dogs, but coexisted well with a female Boxer, so introductions to new dogs should be careful. With children, heās friendlyāthough his playful style and size make him better suited to families with sturdier, older kids. Thereās no experience with cats. Heās content when left alone as long as the trash stays out of reach, and his favorite things include car rides, tennis balls, treats, and a good ear rub. He doesnāt jump fences but does indulge his digging curiosity in the yard. Loud noises scare him, especially fireworks. If youāve got the right setup and want a loyal, playful companion, Kano could fit right in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
