About Clyde
Clyde is a large Husky mix with a striking black, bicolor, and apricot coat, now four years old and settled into foster care in Scottsdale, AZ. When he first arrived, Clyde was suffering significant pain from carpal hyperextension and hip dysplasia, but thanks to specialized care, he’s come a long way. Custom braces help his front legs, fish oil and joint supplements help his comfort, and he’s learned to get around well—doggy stairs make up for the fact he can’t jump up on beds. He’s not built for high-energy adventure, but he’s happy with short to medium walks and has great leash manners. Clyde is the classic Husky; he’s playful and vocal, full of personality, and knows how to let you know what he wants. He enjoys his toys, likes to cuddle when he feels comfortable, and loves to hold paws. While he’s had moments of resource guarding when adjusting to new pets, he responds well to positive redirection and has adapted beautifully—he plays nicely with both dogs and cats in his foster home. Because some days his joints are tender, a calm home with older children suits him best. Clyde wants an adopter who’ll embrace his special health needs and his lively, affectionate spirit. Clyde is a Husky mix and typically does best in a stable environment with space to roam and plenty of human companionship. With his current medical needs, a calm and relaxed household will be ideal for him.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Husky mixes like Clyde usually appreciate having a yard or safe area to explore, but with his mobility limitations, regular short walks and access to a secure garden or patio are enough.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Huskies can be a good fit for families with children, and Clyde has done well with older kids. Because of his sometimes-sore joints, a home with gentle, older children is a better fit for him.
