About Gerrie

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Get ready to meet Gerrie, a lovable "super mutt" rescued from Baja Mexico and the smallest boy of his litter. Growing up with seven siblings, Gerrie is a delightful mix of Labrador Retriever, Black Mouth Cur, and perhaps a few other breeds that give him an adorable, unique look—some of his siblings even resemble Aussies, Anatolian Shepherds, or Collies! Gerrie is on track to become a large breed dog, as his mama weighs 42 pounds and most of the litter is expected to reach the 60-110 pound range when full grown. At the moment, the pups range from 25-45 pounds as of late May. Gerrie shines with his friendly, social nature toward people and other dogs. He’s already crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night, using his crate for naps during the day. While he gets along well with everyone, Gerrie is not yet house trained and will need a patient adopter committed to the process of potty training. A work schedule that accommodates a new puppy is important, as he’s still learning to hold his bladder. He’s healthy, fully vaccinated, and scheduled for sterilization in San Diego at the end of June. For this reason, only local San Diego adopters are currently being considered so he can attend his surgery appointment (included in his adoption fee); adopters outside San Diego can be considered afterward. Gerrie’s ideal home includes someone willing to attend group puppy classes to ensure he grows into an amazing adult dog. If you are ready for the fun and adventure of puppyhood and want to bring home a loving, playful companion, Gerrie can’t wait to meet you! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
